Tasted 01/23/15 from a Riedel Tequila Glass.
Pale straw color.
Aroma: Medium-light fragrance of agave, oak, pear and apple.
Initial Taste: Peppery agave, oak, spices, and light sweetness from the fruit flavor.
Body: Light body with small tears on glass; and a light mouth-feel dominated by the agave vegetal character.
Finish: Relative short heated finish of agave and mild fruit notes, with a mild peppery kick ending with a lingering agave vegetal after-taste.

The pale straw color results from the relative short aging of 60 days in American oak. The aroma and initial taste have a little sweetness from the fruit notes but are soon over-powered by the peppery agave. The finish ends with a lingering agave vegetal after-taste, which I didn’t find very appealing. This is a value tequila for sure since you can easily find it for under $20, but for my taste I would only only use it for mixing.

I bought this to soak strawberries in, but had to pour a pair of neat shots off the top to make room, and to enjoy the tequila alone.

Not a bad price, and not a bad mouth feel, but it had a little too much volatility to really savor. I wanted to like it more than I did like it.

Great looking bottle, and the color is very inviting. I liked it better on the tip of my tongue than in my throat.

After the requisite 6 weeks of soaking strawberries, I got pretty liberal with drinking this and must say I was *happy* a few shots in. No regrets there and I felt great the following day.. so yay!

A pretty good value brand that can be easily found. All good things. Let's see if the tequila is tops for the under $20 category.

Aroma: Very sweet. Not as much agave as I'd like. It's almost syrupy in the fruity sweet scent.
Initial Taste: Vanilla, Light agave and fruit (pears/berries)
Body: Medium-light body that is a little oily so it coats the mouth OK. Still a very sweet tequila with just a slight bitterness.
Finish: Reasonable finish. Not a spicy kick, but no burn either. Fairly easy to drink.

This is a pretty good tequila for under $20. It's a decent value sipper, but the strong flavor tends to overpower citrus mixed drinks. For something more fruity or sweet it is fine, but it's has a strange aftertaste in a margarita. You're better off buying the blanco for that as it mixes pretty well. Overall, still a pretty good buy for the money.

I thoroughly enjoy this line of tequila. I've been sipping this ever since I haven't been able to find anything El Tesoro. Both very worthy for the price point with nothing disappointing in aroma or on the palette.
