Tasted 01/23/15 from a Riedel Tequila Glass.
Pale straw color.
Aroma: Medium-light fragrance of agave, oak, pear and apple.
Initial Taste: Peppery agave, oak, spices, and light sweetness from the fruit flavor.
Body: Light body with small tears on glass; and a light mouth-feel dominated by the agave vegetal character.
Finish: Relative short heated finish of agave and mild fruit notes, with a mild peppery kick ending with a lingering agave vegetal after-taste.
The pale straw color results from the relative short aging of 60 days in American oak. The aroma and initial taste have a little sweetness from the fruit notes but are soon over-powered by the peppery agave. The finish ends with a lingering agave vegetal after-taste, which I didn’t find very appealing. This is a value tequila for sure since you can easily find it for under $20, but for my taste I would only only use it for mixing.
