Tequila Alquimia Reserva de Don Adolfo Extra Añejo

Tequila Alquimia Reserva de Don Adolfo Extra Añejo is aged for 6 years in American white oak barrels. This sipping Tequila is described as a "cognac-like" spirit and is best enjoyed neat.

Tequila Alquimia is an ultra premium award-winning organic Tequila. Our handcrafted product is 100 % natural, USDA Certified Organic, made of 100% Blue Agave Tequilana Weber. All of our certified organic Agave is estate grown on our family ranch in Arandas, Jalisco, Mexico.

We carefully select the best and healthiest Agaves, only harvesting plants that are at their peak of quality and ripeness. Our quality control process demands that we closely monitor the cooking, fermentation and distillation at every single step. This ensures that our tequilas are consistently of the highest quality possible.

Our project is completely sustainable and eco-friendly. Our Tequilas are bottled in specially designed bottles made of recycled glass by a family of glass blowers in Tonalá, Jalisco. All aspects of our artisanal production reflect a proper balance of the old world and the new: a combination of alchemy, modern science, and rich culture. The making of Tequila Alquimia is just as much an art as it is a science.

For an extra anejo, surprising light in color and nose. Aromas of fruit and spice, but not very intense. There is also a slight oak presence. Taste is sweet with orange and apple, slight numbing on the tongue. The body is medium - very uncharacteristic of an extra anejo. A quick finish with heat in the top and back. There is a pleasant aftertaste, but it is lacking in general.

This was enjoyable overall, but I must say I was expecting more from a premium extra anejo. For the super premium price, again I was expecting more from a supposed super premium tequila. A very nice bottle and box presentation.

A tequila that all tequila lovers should try. A really well aged (6 years) tequila.

Aroma: A Baking spice and nutty aroma.
Initial Taste: Sweet vanilla with compliments of nutmeg and cinnamon.
Body: The wood and spices mix really well with the nutty flavor in a medium-thick body that coats the tongue.
Finish: A nice strong finish that has a linger that reminds me of Nutella. A really smooth and sweet finish with just enough spice linger to make it nearly perfect.

I'm shocked that I'm the first person to review this. Go out an get some of this stuff. This is what an extra anejo should taste like.
