My first review for tequila.net. Purchased this rep for $17.99 from hi times,
in the above pictured bottle.. Have enjoyed the juice from every glass, cup, imaginable.
Initial aroma is vanilla and agave with some spicyness to the mix. Taste is medium smooth. With noticeable spice on the tounge. Very sight burn going down,in a too enjoyable way. A slight oak aroma lingering after a few minutes in the glass. I didn't feel there was very much complexity to the juice, but still had a very solid agave , vanilla taste overall.
Bottle is extraordinary . took a flyer on this and won big time. Have purchased over 12 bottles as gifts for the holidays as well as event tequila. All who have tasted this, absolutely, love it. Awesome purchase!!!

Tasted 08/18/14 from a Riedel Tequila Glass.
Purchased on sale from Old Town Liquor for $24.99

Appearance: Crystal clear amber color.
Aroma: Aged agave. Caramel and oak.
Initial Taste: Smooth peppery agave, caramel, and oak flavors.
Body: Slow thick tears on glass. Smooth buttery mouth feel. Nice balanced flavors.
Finish: Medium-length, with a very smooth peppery agave kick with lingering sweetness.
Presentation: The bottle has a unique old Mexico-type design, easily recognized on a shelf.

This is a very nice sipping reposado and an excellent value for the price paid. I will buy another bottle if still in stock at OTL. However, Hi-Time Wines Cellars has the El Destilador Reposado in the new bottle design for sale at $17.99 and the anejo for sale in the old bottle design for $21.99. Are the old and new the same juice? The producer's website wasn't clear.

I really like this stuff. I've been buying this for years from hitime wine for cheap. Now I'm screwed cause it's not made anymore. I'm drinking the end as you read this. Now.. (about the nose and finish,) I have to say that I was sniffing on the bottle which had but a last shot left. Exquisite. The actual shot itself was noticeably more fumey. The initial taste was smooth and even . no oakyness just great reposado. The finish was dry, no fruit. more spice, very nice. Now the bad news. The new "El Destilador" is not the same stuff. So If you do run across the bottle of "El Destilador' as pictured above. Then I suggest you get as many as you can because that's what I'll be doing.. Over all rating of 94+

this tequila comes in two types of bottles, the fancy bottle up top, and a more basic looking bottle, dont be fooled though its the same deliciousness inside, this tequila has an incredibly smooth flavor, but unlike that other much more famous tequila endorsed by every mainstream hip hop and RnB artist, it does not taste like its watered down, it has a lot of flavor, it has very nice woody undertones which you can really detect at the end as well as the agave flavor, i dont know how much it is here in the U.S because before i moved back here, i was living in Mexico City and i purchased 6 giant bottles with a bonus mini bottle attached at the side, so I've yet to have to go buy more, i highly recommend this for drinking on its own without a chaser, other than lime the lime really adds flavor, or for mixing into margaritas..in all honesty this is the bottle to get and keep at your place in case you have one of those spur of the moment parties

Bought 1/20/10, paid $45, drinking from a tall shot glass. I am a bit surprised that there are no reviews. This is a mighty tequila, presented well from at a good price. Color is a light amber, has a subtle nose, light straight tears, does not clump up. Great body, very smooth going down with a nice finish, the agave really comes through with a almost bold finish and slight alcohol rush at the end, leaves a slight wood sensation. If you have another glass... as i did you'll appreciate its balance, you content to settle back and enjoy it's complexities. The bottle is a quality affair but may be overlooked today as it is not as flashy as other products. Among those who enjoy tequila's this gets a lot of "whats that?" Pick some up and see, you will not be disappointed.
