Tequila Agave Dos Mil Reposado

Agave Dos Mil Tequila Reposado - Agave dos mil was born of Agave Tequilana, which is a company rich with experience and tradition in both, the cultivation of agave and the production of fine tequila.

Agave Dos Mil Reposado is 100% Blue Agave and aged in oak barrels up to 6 months.

During the late XIX century, our Great, Great, Grandfather, Don Pedro Camerena, pioneered the widespread growth of agave in the region of Jalisco, Mexico, known as "Los Altos". Likewise, his tavern in Acumbaro, a district of Jesus Maria, Jalisco became the first distillery of Tequila in the area. With the experience of five generations we proudly offer to you "Agave Dos Mil".

Tasted in a Riedel Sommelier 7-21-08
Agave Dos Mil Reposado is bright and golden with yellow hues, and medium tears / body. The aromas present are Agave and citrus with a hint of wood and smoke. Initial taste and body containing sweet Agave, along with butter and wood, followed by a warm citrus finish and aftertaste. Very smooth and subtle alcohol present.

Agave Dos Mil came recommended to me by a trusted source and while it's not the easiest tequila to find, the price tag made it worth a shot.

Aroma: Cooked agave, vanilla, nuts and a touch of citrus.
Initial Taste: A sweet cooked agave, oak and a bit of butter.
Body: Medium bodied. Notes of agave, vanilla and oak. Very simple, but also well balanced and tasty.
Finish: A very smooth finish. Not much spice or burn at all. The wood and sweetness compliment each other nicely. The added element is that the citrus makes its largest appearance in the finish which makes it really interesting and taste very good and unique.

The bottle isn't much to speak of, but the juice within is pretty darn good. The citrus nose and finish in a reposado makes it unique as well. For the price, this tequila is definitely worth a look.
