Huizache Tequila Silver

Tequila Huizache Silver is produced exclusively with Agave Azul Tequilana Weber, which guarantees a premium 100% Tequila. Huizache Silver Tequila validates it’s excellence with distinctive attributes and a pleasant Agave presence.

The Huizache bush is found in Mexico's semiarid regions. The Huizache sprouts small yellow flowers and is typically found in areas where Agave plants grow. Huizaches exude all the virtues of the Mexican landscape - its delicateness & wild character, sweetness & strength, the magnificence and subtleness of its nature. Tequila Huizache encompasses all of these attributes and more.

The roots of Teqiula Huizache are found in the wisdom of the Romo de la Peña Family, one of the most brilliant tequilero lineages, who’s traditions and heritage has forged for generations. Creating a true Tequila is only possible for those who have been able to preserve the secrets of it’s craftsmanship and who desire to offer Tequila at superior quality.

Tequila Huizache is produced using the wisdom of the Romo de la Peña Family, who throughout their four generations have created some of the best Tequila brands worldwide.  The Ladies of the Romo de la Peña family, have driven this notable tradition of excellence by way of their brand, Tequila Huizache.

If you've noticed a theme about my reviews, you definitely note that I have a soft spot for the budget brands that are 100% agave. Finding something that tastes good for $60+ is easy. Digging up the bargain gems is much tougher. So I see that Huizache is under $20 and of course I'm going to jump on the chance to give it a shot. NOM 1437 is a solid distillery as well, which makes it even more tempting.

Price: $15-20/bottle
Aroma: REALLY earthy agave nose. Cement and floral notes.
Initial Taste: Earthy agave with compliments of mint.
Body: Tastes like it’s been rested with hints of vanilla and spice along with the cooked agave, earth and white pepper.
Finish: A medium length finish with agave, white pepper and floral notes.

This blanco is unlike most others out there. Lots of different flavors throughout the drink and a nice challenge to try and taste them all. It may be a tad earthy for some...but for those that like the earthier blancos, this is an absolute steal for under $20. It's not my favorite tequila, but you definitely can't go wrong with a juice that has this kind of character for the price.

I was given this from a friend who had visited Mexico and picked this up - not sure what the price was.

Fairly astringent nose with a little bit of citrus. Entry was sweet and citrusy, and fairly earthy agave presence.

Finish was not great for me, but not terrible either - kind of the earthy agave flavor all the way through the finish.

Not one of my favorite silver's, but definitely not bad either.
