Chinaco Tequila Blanco

A good, solid blanco from a great line of tequilas.

Aroma: A nice balance of a lot of things. Agave presence is strong. Then there is a nice mix of earth, spice and citrus fruits.
Initial taste: Again a good balance of what I expect out of a blanco. Not overly sweet, but the agave flavor is still there nicely.
Body: A bit more citrus comes through, but still a nice balance of agave and earth & spice.
Finish: Pleasant finish. The citrus notes are there and there's a pleasant burn. It does not last as long as I'd probably like it to.

Purchased for $30 online. Well worth that price. I've only sipped it, but I feel like it would be a really good mixing tequila as well. At $30, I'll probably always have a bottle of this around.

Based on reviews posted on Tequila.net, I was really looking forward to buying and trying the Chinaco Blanco. Could not have been more disappointed. I actually purchased two different bottles, six months apart. Same disappointing results.

Tasted like it had been contaminated with saltwater and pickle juice.

I've been using this blanco to convert tequila haters for a while now, and it's seldom failed. It's wonderfully pure, complex, smooth, and enjoyable.

Aroma: Earth, clay, grass, agave, and salt. Some floral and citrus notes reveal themselves after the glass breathes a bit.
Initial taste: Not too sweet, and not bitter at all. A bit of floral and fruit in a nice, rounded texture.
Body: Very agave forward with citrus lingering. A small amount of spice.
Finish: The earthy, agave finish gives way to notes of lemon peel. Then, as the agave falls off, the finish keeps going with notes of vanilla and spice.

Fantastic.

Colour is silvery, not completely clear. First sniff is magnificent agave - first sip is light, sweet and mild. Depth of agave soon presents itself with elegant florals developing in the nose. Sweetness flows through to a clean and somewhat short finish with a pleasing tingle. Chinaco Blanco may well be the most perfectly balanced blanco I have ever tried.

Tasted out of a snifter on 01/14/09. This is just a great blanco from a great line. An excellent sipper that I highly recommend to anyone. Like I've stated before, this line is very consistent. I personally would never mix this one. It's to be savored, and it's in my top 4.

Aroma: A sweet and pleasant nose of floral (violet and orange blossom) and spice (clove), with hints of tropical fruit.
Initial Taste: A semi oily mouth feel. A sweet entry with no bitterness. Initial taste of fruit.
Body: A nice heavy agave body (in a good way), with notes of tropical fruit.
Finish: A semi heated finish of short duration, with a lingering of agave and fruit.
