Tequila Don Fulano Anejo

Don Fulano's Anejo is delightfully aromatic, characteristic of a careful three year aging in new French oak barrels where the aromas, colors, and tastes develop. Our Anejo maintains the full flavor of the Agave with very interesting hues of oak and vanilla, denoting the finesse that resembles a fine Cognac.

Deep polished copper-gold colour with medium viscosity. Nose suggests dried fruit, honey and baked agave. First sip is semi-sweet with a creamy soft mouthfeel. An overreaching bitterness quickly develops as the nose deepens to include caramel, bitter spice and a pleasing earthy depth. Don Fulano opens up slightly in the body with wood and spice, and finishes slowly but with little distinction, mainly oak and earth. Overall it is a decent and attractively packaged anejo but maybe a little too bitter for this reviewer's taste.

Tasted on 07/24/08 out of a double ball glass. In my opinion, a very good anejo. I like their line. Very consistent.

Aroma: Cooked agave, cinnamon, and earth.
Initial Taste: On the tip of the tongue, its very sweet with no bitterness.
Body: A very balanced agave, complemented nicely by wood, caramel and spice.
Finish: Of long duration, with no alcohol burn.
