I'm on the prowl for tequilas that are awesome and $20 and under. The D Los Altos line fit the bill for price. I was hoping that it would fit the bill for taste too...
Aroma: Big time floral and fruit nose with light vanilla.
Initial Taste: Decent vanilla sweetness with light floral notes. A hint of medicinal taste, but it doesn't take away too much from the initial taste.
Body: Thin body for an anejo. Hints of oak and spice compliment the initial sweetness.
Finish: A nice long linger of spice and wood. Relatively smooth and with a slight bitterness and anise flavor. Just a slight burn to go along with it.
Is this my favorite tequila...nope. Would I recommend it for $20...absolutely. It's always nice to find drinkable variety for a bargain price. I think D Los Altos Anejo fits the bill.
