In a Riedel glass it presents a shiny copper gold colour, with low viscosity. Caramel, oak and smoke are the principle elements in the aroma, with quite strong alcohol. It offers little sweetness, rather tending toward an astringent bitterness with subdued agave and herbal flavours. Finishes rapidly with mild agave, slight minerals and a moderate, but brief alcohol burn. I was expecting something better from this anejo, remembering well and fondly Espolon Reposado. It tends to be a bit thin in viscosity, flavour, depth and character.
